Baz Wilson was a "darts-shark" who attracted the attention of Eddie Yeats in the Rovers by his skilful handling of the arrows. Eddie suggested to Baz that they win themselves a little extra by entering into a darts contest with Fred Gee and Len Fairclough and then, after losing gracefully, up the stakes by playing again for money and clean the two men out. Len was too sharp to be conned in this way and recognised Baz for what he was, threatening him quietly with a broken hand if he didn't hand him his wagers back and scarper. Baz did so, also taking the rest of the money including Eddie's winnings.
