The first cabinet of GDR Lodamun was formed by the GNRG to lead until a cabinet could be elected by the first Presidium, instead of having a slate of ministers carried over from DR Lodamun. DR Lodamun was approaching its 100th anniversary, but the government refused to celebrate it in September. There were plans to rename the country to GDR Lodamun (Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun) but there were increasing fears that a large opposition party, the Allied Humanists, would cause trouble. They called the renaming plans, as well as the official state ideology and religion, "fascist" and President Paul Spaak had them executed as a result.
