The Miracle Planet is still marked with the menacing face of the Brotherhood of Metallix. The Freedom Fighters have visited the planet, on Mobius for the first time since the defeat of the army, to reverse the metallic damage. They soon come across the Alpha Device, having transformed itself to a massive size. The Kintobor Computer plans to make the staff run backwards, undoing the damage, but Johnny Lightfoot is having trouble finding a socket for the cable. Once again, Sonic is struggling to care about the "techno-babble" and feels like a spare part. Suddenly, Sonic notices a moving shadow and runs to check it out, despite Amy Rose's words of caution. After a quick search, Sonic discovers a Metallix. The robot doesn't seem keen to fight, but Sonic is eager to send it to the scrapheap. So
