The 1956 Buddy Shuman 250 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Hickory Speedway on November 11, 1956. Speedy Thompson won his eighth and final victory of the year in dominating fashion, leading 154 of the 250 laps in route to a four-second victory on Ralph Earnhardt.
