Dapper Dan Malone is a thief from The Three Stooges short, Crime on Their Hands. He stole the Punjab Diamond and hides out at Squid McGuffey's Cafe with his henchman, Muscles, and his girlfriend, Bea. The Stooges, as reporter, came into the cafe looking for Dapper from a tip they got. Thinking they were detectives, they tried to get rid of them. But then Shemp swallowed the diamond, thinking it was a mint. They locked Moe and Larry in the closet while they try to preform a operation on Shemp. Moe and Larry accidentally let in a gorilla that was being kept in the next room. When Muscles opened the closet, the gorilla had beaten both him and Dapper up and set Shemp free until the police arrived.
