Julyan was a colonel in the Galactic Empire who taught a course on Strategy and Tactics at the Arkanis Academy on the planet Arkanis. He was cadaverous, bald and had a dropping white mustache. He was a brisk lecturer and also restless, moving regularly about his classroom while lecturing. Zare Leonis, a human male Imperial cadet, proved an apt pupil in his class. However, when Leonis was discovered to be a traitor in the academy's ranks, it was Julyan who conducted his military tribunal, sentencing him to death.
