"Nordic Ascendant", known as "Polar Star Angel" (極（きょく）星（せい）天（てん） Kyokuseiten) in the OCG and the Japanese anime, are a sub-archetype of the Nordic cards. They are a group of Fairy-type monsters used by Halldor in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. Except for "Vanadis of the Nordic Ascendant", whose name is an alternative name of the Norse Goddess Freyja, the other two members of this archetype are based on Norse Mythology figures associated with Odin.
