The first creation that Mata Nui made after his creation was the First BIONICLE Planet. It was created as a sort of an "experimental" planet, where Mata Nui could practice his creation skills. That's why the planet and everything there is called "the root of creation". The planet is much smaller than BIONICLE Planet but still fairly big. It is covered with water and is pretty much like the BIONICLE Planet. After creating the planet and Dromii, Mata Nui created his First Matoran and placed them on the island. They moved to Manuin when Dromii started sinking.
