Bernie the Agent is a Hollywood talent scout who gets lost in a swamp and encounters Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie. Impressed with Kermit's talent and pluck, Bernie tells him about Lew Lord's open auditions for a talented frog and encourages him to try his luck in Hollywood. He is soon driven away by Arnie the Alligator, but not before setting the plot in motion. Bernie, like the one often mentioned as the agent of Miss Piggy and other characters, was named in honor of Jim Henson's agent, Bernie Brillstein.
