A cyborg, Hestus worked as a translator during the war, and in 5000 BBY was aboard the Sith dreadnaught Omen when it was knocked off course as it jumped to hyperspace and crash-landed on the remote planet Kesh. Hestus, along with his cousin Ravilan Wroth, survived the disaster.
