Peets worked as second unit gaffer on Steven Spielberg's comedy 1941 (1979, with Ed Reilly, John Wright, Don Yamasaki, and Adam Glick), as best boy electric on the horror film Society (1989), and as chief lighting technician on the television drama A Family for Joe (1990, with Leo J. Napolitano). Following his fifteen years association with Star Trek, Peets worked as gaffer on the talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2010).
