The Jinchuriki was first spoken of when Gamabunta saw Gaara in episode 78. During that fight, Gamabunta referred to him as a "Spiritualist Medium". Jinchuriki is the common term for Tailed Beast hosts, it is literally translated to "The Power of Human Sacrifice", referring to how human beings are sacrificed to become hosts to the beasts.
