The Pathiad Nebulatae were a stellar phenomenon which the USS Enterprise conducted a long term survey of sometime before stardate 2252.34. The survey mission was the first in which Spock served on the Enterprise, having replaced the formed science officer who had been struck down by Virillian toxic fever. (EV comic: "Flesh of My Flesh")
