Marsh was a trucker and a longtime patron of the 24 Hours All Nite Diner. His wife Marsha died of alcohol poisoning. He had a longterm affair with the waitress at the diner he frequented, Bette Munroe , something his wife had known. He had also slept with Munroe's son, Bernie (who was working as a prostitute in Gotham). He was in the diner when the patrons were tormented by Doctor Destiny, and he died there.
