Gaetano was a human male of the 23rd century and a member of the Federation Starfleet. Gaetano served on the USS Enterprise, where he held the rank of lieutenant. In 2267, he was aboard the shuttlecraft Galileo as it studied the Murasaki 312 phenomena and then crashed on Taurus II. Gaetano favored retaliation against the Taurean anthropoids after they attacked, but was slain by them and buried on the planet. (TOS episode: "The Galileo Seven")
