To activate the Generators, Samus first has to jump off the central platform on which they would normally be situated. There is a |manual override she must use, in the form of a security lever. This will activate a Hand Scanner. Using this reactivates the Generator. In Generator C however, the Generator is stuck. Samus is forced to navigate maintenance tunnels in Morph Ball form to manually dislodge it, and then defeat Meta Ridley down the Generator Shaft before she can use C's Scanner.
