Samantha (Japanese: サマンサ Samansa) known simply as Sam (Japanese: サム Sama) is a ten-year-old Pokémon Trainer from the anime and a traveling companion of Ash. Her goal is to become a Pokémon Master and to go out with Ash. She traveled through Illis with Ash. Her starter Pokémon was a Heatty given to her by her grandfather Professor Albert Pine.
