Adam Gerrick was a Grayson citizen and engineer. He developed a plan to use crystoplast, a material new to Grayson after its treaty with the Star Kingdom of Manticore, to enclose cities and farmland protecting them from the toxic Grayson environment. At Steadholder Honor Harrington's suggestion, he resigned from his position in his steading to become chief engineer and development officer of Grayson Sky Domes, Ltd.
