Boris Volgin was a high-ranking officer in Stalin's Red Army. Boris Volgin was responsible for laundering the funds accumulated by the Philosophers during World War II, but in the confusion of the war's aftermath, he stole the money for the Soviet Union's benefit. The money was hidden in various banks throughout Australia, Hong Kong and Switzerland and came to be known as the Philosophers' Legacy. Following Boris's death, his son, Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, illegally inherited the wealth.
