maya calls phoenix and asks him to babysit pearl at the office. however while theyre watching tv the lights go out and someone kidnaps pearl. phoenix calls 911 and gumshoe arrests phoenix. maya visits him at the detention center and takes his attorneys badge so she can represent him in court. at the trial maya defends phoenix against the ghost of miles edgeworth who was the prosecutor. she proves that phoenix couldnt have been the kidnapper because the car used wasnt his and he cant drive. however before hes declared not guilty pearl arrives and says he did it so he gets a guilty verdict.
