[Source] An engine boosting system was a component that could be installed within a vehicle to enhance its speed and fuel efficiency. The number of different systems on the market was endless, and included afterburners, volatile chemical injectors, overpressure feeders, electromagnetic wave-pulse generators, and mixed fuel combinations. Increasing the output of the system was always the intended goal, thought they tended to shorten the operational life of an engine dramatically.
