The unnamed Driver was in charge of the wedding car that transported Len Fairclough to his wedding to Rita Littlewood, together with best man Alf Roberts and Ray Langton. Outside the door of 9 Coronation Street it developed a puncture which delayed the men getting to St. Mary's Church while he fixed it. Stan and Hilda Ogden, not given invites to the wedding, got some mirth from watching their predicament and Stan offered the use of his window-cleaning cart to get them there.
