Vrank was the Krolpish military governor of North America, based in St. Louis. He held the position fifty years after the initial Krolpish invasion of Earth. He authorized the embassy led by Prilk to demand access to the U.S. territory of Utah to take deposits of silver and gold. The U.S. refused, and an uprising began. Vrank was targeted for assassination two days into the uprising. He survived, although several of his Krolp guards and human minions were killed. The attack angered Vrank sufficiently that he pushed that much harder on the U.S., destroying its capital of Grand Junction. Within a few days, Vrank's forces had defeated and abolished the U.S.
