When the Sheriff is missing, a Stable Lass is brought to Nottingham Castle by Allan A Dale because she saw the Sheriff disappear in the night. She tells Gisborne that the Sheriff went out on his horse in his night clothes, that he was mumbling and ordered her to open the gate, which she did.
