Circa 2002, a group of scholars stumbled across records of the Roman Empire and Defunct Roman Republic. Their leader, whose original name is lost to history, was inspired, and concluded that they should rebuild the Roman Republic in their Misty Mountains. The Group named itself Canis Cineris, and began recruiting the villages and towns nestled in the mountainous terrain.
