As John Moore regathers his thoughts after his induction into the Red Lantern Corps, he remembers how he changed after his mother died. The police officers that had come to arrest his brother Raymond slowly approach him and he tries to warn them to stay away but the Red Lantern Power Ring has impeded his speech capabilities and he accidentally incinerates one with his rage plasma vomit. The other officers stand back as John looks at the corpse of his fallen brother then turns to them and they explain to him Raymond resisted arrest and they had to restrain him.
