Born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, Krentz attended the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound in Vancouver and graduated after two years in 2002. He joined the Rainmaker company and worked on films such as the family movie Good Boy! (2003), the comic adaptation Garfield (2004), the science fiction thriller I, Robot (2004, with James Cromwell and Bruce Greenwood), Rob Bowman's action film Elektra (2005, with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), the crime thriller Firewall (2006, with Virginia Madsen), Ron Howard's mystery thriller The Da Vinci Code (2006), the comedy sequel Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006), and the comedy Blades of Glory (2007), as well as on the television series The Collector (2004), Stargate: Atlantis (2004, with regular Paul McGillion), and Stargate SG-1 (2004).
