Grell Smiles (Grell スマイルズ;Grellu sumairuzu) is a Marine surving as a Rear Admiral (少将Shōshō), and replacement Vice Admiral (中将Chūjō?) for seven months for a recovering Vice Admiral, known to pirates as "Bloody Red" Grell Smiles. Surving directly under Admirals Akainu , Grell is supossivley strong being able to hold his own against the World Government Commander-in-Chief(世界政府全軍総帥Sekai Seifu Zengun Sōsui?) Kong .
