Attack on the U.S.S. Brandywine is an incident that occurred on November 19, 2002 where an unknown device or bomb by an unknown person or group attacked the Navy ship, the U.S.S. Brandywine with the resulting explosion leaving twenty-two being left injured while six Navy sailors were tragically killed in the attack, the two high-profile fatalities being Lieutenant Derek Whitting and sailor Evan Dearing. The attack would later prompt Evan's father, Harper Dearing to embark on a campaign of revenge against both the United States Navy and NCIS.
