Most of the planet's landmasses are insular, forming archipelagos in the shallow seas. The many reeves and islands are surrounded by forests of hydrogen-trees: life forms which grow on the shallow waters, somewhat like mangroves, and whose yellow blisters store hydrogen in a way that the tree can violently explode when bumped into.
