Zernek was a protoss templar. Zernek was selected as a member of a Daelaam aexilium sent to the moon Saalok, to make preparations for the liberation of the planet Aiur by an executor in the aftermath of the deinfestation of the Queen of Blades. He and his squad were ambushed by zerg, and Zernek expressed surprise the feral zerg could use such tactics. He lost his footing when two zerglings slipped through his defenses, and was knocked to the ground. Kehdana sliced through the two zerglings and Zeranek in an act of cold mercy for the dying templar.
