Gaylaxicon 1988 was the first iteration of the ongoing convention. It was held from June 3-June 5, 1988 in Provincetown, Massachusetts, hosted by the GSFS, received approximately 90 attendees. The guest of honor for the year was author J.F. Rivkin.
