The USS Intrepid II (NCC-1730) was a Constitution (Enterprise refit)-class heavy cruiser on active duty in the Federation Starfleet during the late 23rd century (Star Fleet Technical Manual), named after the Intrepid lost in the Gamma 7A system (2268) (TOS: "The Immunity Syndrome"). Intrepid II was recommissioned in July 2288 and deployed to the Seventh Fleet shortly afterwards. It was later rumored to have been hijacked by its captain, Jeffrey Hunt, in the early 2290s and taken into a black hole to escape prosecution by Starfleet.
