Smaugan (溶岩龍スマウガン Lava Dragon Smaugan), better known as the Flame Dragon, is the boss of the Ice and Magma Caverns. Guarding the Devil Deity of Immorality Statue, he resides in the section of the Caverns known as the Hall of the Flame Dragon. He is one of the largest characters in the game, giving him an advantage when fighting him from ground level. Though a large Dragon, Smaugan is not a Dragon Deity like the Dark Dragon, as his bones and fangs are not metallic like the Dragon Deities are, but he is still a powerful Dragon and Fiend.
