The first book in the series introduces the story and the characters. Auraya saves her village from the Dunwayans and becomes a priestess and eventually a White of the Circle. As one of the five White she tries to make peace with other nations such as Somrey and the Siyee. Soon she begins to start an affair with a trusted friend from her homeland, Dreamweaver Leiard. She participates in the war between the Circlians and Pentadrians showing her ultimate power by killing the Pentadrian leader Kuar.
