Joseph Alexandre Matte (March 6, 1893 in Bourget, Ontario – June 13, 1961) was a professional ice hockey player who played 4 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Toronto St. Pats, Hamilton Tigers, Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens. He played senior hockey in the Montreal City Hockey League until 1918, when he joined the senior Hamilton Tigers, The tean won the Allan Cup in 1919. The Toronto St. Pats signed him as a free agent in 1919 and Matte was traded to the Hamtilton Tigers the next season. In his NHL career, Matte played in 68 games and scored 17 goals and 15 assists.
