Rowlands was the steadicam operator on the two Matrix sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. He also operated cameras on the hit 2000 film Meet the Parents and its 2004 sequel, Meet the Fockers. In addition, he was a camera and steadicam operator on Martin Scorsese's Academy Award-nominated 2002 film, Gangs of New York. He later reteamed with Scorsese on the Academy Award-winning 2006 film, The Departed (featuring Mark Rolston) and on the 2008 Rolling Stones documentary, Shine a Light.
