A Jedi Guardian was the name given to a member of the Jedi Order whose skills and talents were in battle. They were the light side version of a Sith Warrior. Guardians often concentrated on martial training and combat. Many Guardians would engage in combat, but most were no less skilled at diplomacy. Like all Jedi, they were keepers of the peace, acting as a kind of special police force for the Galactic Republic. Some Guardians, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, preferred peaceful solutions despite their focus on combat. Guardians traditionally wielded blue lightsabers, though this was not a rule.
