Deep Space Nine is a space station in Star Trek. It was built by the Cardassians, and was originally called Terok Nor. The Cardassians built it in orbit of Bajor, during the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor, and forced Bajorans to work in the ore processing centers on the station. After the occupation ended the Bajorans took control of the station. They asked the Federation to help them run it, and it was renamed Deep Space Nine. After Benjamin Sisko and Jadzia Dax found a wormhole in Bajoran space, the station was moved to the mouth of the wormhole.
