Over-protective father Matsudaira Katakuriko 松平 片栗虎 spied on daughter Matsudaira Kuriko 松平 栗子 on a few occasions when he discovered she is either dating somebody or has other admirers, and seemed to arrive at the same conclusion that all are bad for his daughter, upon which he would try ways and means of frightening the suitors away.
