Gorgon Island is a location that is the end point of Hermes' quest in the cartoon show episode "The Smurf Odyssey ". It is where the legendary Golden Fleece is located, and it is also the home of the Gorgon Sisters, who guard the fleece by turning whoever gazes upon them into stone.
