Clare Gorst was a friend of Douglas Adams. She shared a house with Adams at 29 Arlington Avenue. The first Hitchhikers' book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, was dedicated to her, along with Jonny Brock "and all the other Arlingtonians".
