The Forgotten Warriors are semi-sentient beings, infected by a virus of their Lord Nuva. The virus is mostly spread by Nuva's power, but can also infect others when a Forgotten Warrior wounds them and the prey comes in direct contact with it. The transformation into a thrall takes longer that way however. In the first few hours the infection doesn't show itself, but after some days black-colored outgrowths are seen around the injection point. Those can even grow even bigger over time, but not necessarily have to. The body of the victim decays over time.
