Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian Highlands is a fanfic based on the eighteenth season of the CBS reality television series Survivor. The premier aired on August 26, 2009. It marks the second time that Survivor was shot in high definition, with Sony XDCAMs. In the end, former professional cyclist Tyson Apostol defeated his longtime ally Candace Smith in a 5-2 vote. Tyson Apostol, Sandy Burgin, Erinn Lobdell and Carolina Eastwood returned to Survivor All Stars: Samoa where they placed 18th, 19th, 2nd and 9th respectively.
