The series can be defined as Space Opera, Atom Punk, and borders on Magical Realism with various allegorical references to Mercury, Phaeton, Baal (Phonecian Storm God), and others. The principle nemesis in the series at first is a mystery, their origins and natures being revealed only slowly, and are similar to the Demonic Rakshasa in Hindu mythology.
