Euan Kerr was the third editor of the Beano comic, succeeding Harold Cramond in 1984 after Cramond retired. A highly experienced editor, he held the post for an incredible 22 years until he retired in 2006. He handed over to Chief Sub-Editor Alan Digby who took over the reins from that point onward. In 2009 Kerr departed DC Thomson altogether after 40 years in the comics business. Kerr is the second longest serving editor of the Beano comic, behind his predecessor Harold Cramond. The character Cruncher Kerr from the Roger the Dodger strip is named after Kerr.
