Jonathan Sidgwick appeared on Coronation Street as Phil Mason, an ex-boyfriend of Leanne Battersby who unexpectedly turned up in Weatherfield in July 2004. Attending school in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, he graduated from Keele University with a BA (Hons) in French and German. While teaching English in Tokyo, he met Sandy Weiss, a graduate of The Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York, who was running 'Method' acting classes for ex patriots. Upon his return to London he was accepted into LAMDA.
