This EX270 features a light American maple body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil. Other components include a single-locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut. For 1993 the 22-fret neck was replaced with a 24-fret version. The EX270 was discontinued after 1993 along with the rest of the EX line.
