After reading Benny Russell's novella Deep Space Nine, Darlene Kursky told him it was the best piece of science fiction she had read since Heinlein's novel. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars") According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 189) , the story was about an extraterrestrial invasion of Earth. The 1994 movie based on the novel starred many Star Trek guest stars, including Andrew Robinson, Julie Warner, Sam Anderson, J. Patrick McCormack, Nicholas Cascone, William Wellman, Jr., Michael Shamus Wiles, and Todd Bryant.
