Silent Forrester was a fictional master criminal in The Big Good-Bye, a novel in the Dixon Hill series of crime stories. Forrester committed some crimes in the Palisades in New Jersey and managed to elude the police by putting a large engine in a rust bucket of a car and outfitting it with special tires. He had been sent to Sing Sing by Detective Jim Tierney. Tierney managed to arrest him again and delivered him to Tombs, a Manhattan prison.
